Soft Data is an ongoing exploratory project about smell, and memory.
Smell is one of the most powerful carriers of memory, yet it resists clear representation. It is temporal, subjective, spatial, and difficult to archive. This project treats scent as a form of soft data: information that cannot be fully quantified, but can be traced, mapped, narrated, and felt.
Through notes, spatial thinking, small experiments, and speculative structures, Soft Data explores how olfactory experience intersects with memory, place, and identity. Rather than aiming for completeness or accuracy, the project embraces ambiguity, personal bias, and incompleteness as part of the dataset.
This repository functions as a living archive. It may include written fragments, diagrams, mappings, code experiments, and visual studies. The structure is intentionally open, allowing the project to evolve over time.
